Employee Assistance Program - EAP - Services:
The fees for EAP (employee assistance program) services are contracted directly through your employer.
Your employer takes care of all covered and preauthorized services while you are employed.
You should not get a bill for any covered and preauthorized service or visit.
Please make sure you activate any required preauthorization - this is usually done by calling a toll-free phone number and advising them which counselor you have chosen.
EAP services are a short-term service provided by your employer for evaluation, brief interventions, and referral services.
The number of visits allowed varies by employer (usually from one to six).
A few employers allow for continuation of services for a reduced fee or conversion to insurance-covered services with the same therapist, but most do not.
Please thank your employer for providing EAP services. It's a wonderful benefit to have.
